Effective Date: May 15, 2026
Wizly ("we," "us," or "our") is dedicated to protecting the privacy of children and all users of our mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains our data practices in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), GDPR, and Apple App Store Kids Category guidelines.
1. Special Commitment to Children’s Privacy
Wizly is designed for children and families.
- Minimal Data Collection: We do not collect names, emails, or phone numbers from children.
- Scan History Privacy: The App includes a "Scan History" feature. This data is tied to a unique anonymous installation ID and is not linked to any real-world identity.
- Parental Gate: Access to settings, external links, or support is protected by a "Parental Gate" to ensure children cannot perform these actions without an adult.
2. Information We Process
a. Scanned Images and History
- Image Recognition: When you scan an object, the image is sent to our secure backend for AI analysis.
- Scan History Feature: To provide the "Scan History" screen, we store the captured images on our secure servers. This allows children to revisit their discoveries and learn more about them later.
- Face Filtering: Our system is designed to process objects. We discourage scanning faces, and we do not use facial recognition technology.
- Data Retention: Images in the Scan History are stored only as long as the App is installed or until the user chooses to clear their history.
b. Automatically Collected Technical Data
- Anonymous Identifiers: We use unique, non-personally identifiable IDs to synchronize the Scan History with your device.
- Device Info: Device type and OS version are collected to optimize performance.
3. How We Use Information
We use the data strictly for:
- Educational Content: Identifying objects and generating age-appropriate stories.
